The Amber Project

The truth is, projects like The Amber Project save lives.

On #NationalPoetryDay we wanted to share the truth through a young person' perspective:
Why Do I Harm - poem from a young person at The Amber Project
You can read more breath-taking, raw, honest poems by the young people at The Amber Project in their poetry book - Our Story Isn't Over.

What is The Amber Project?

The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm.

AmberProject 0418 (58)We offer help in a variety of different ways including counselling, workshops where young people can build friendships and self-esteem, theatre groups and informal support.

The Amber project also runs Belong, a group for trans or non-binary young people or those questioning their gender identity. Belong offers workshops, free counselling services and practical support to these young people.

Hear from some of the young people themselves about the impact of The Amber Project on their lives.

If you're a young person based in or near Cardiff and have experience of self-harm, you can contact The Amber Project.
If you live elsewhere, please contact your GP as they will be able to direct you to the local support you need. These useful organisations may also be a good place to start.

You can also find out more about who The Amber Project are and what they're up to on The Amber Project website.
